CABARET FOR A CURE

Raise Your Voice: A Cabaret for a Cure is a benefit performance conceived by producer and cancer survivor Rob Morean.

Featuring a lineup of Broadway stars and emerging artists, the show uses the power of music to honor those affected by blood cancer—patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates.

The cabaret creates a true spectacle all while raising funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, of which 100% of the show’s proceeds were given.

LIGHTING DESIGN

Rachel Shatzkin designed and programmed the lighting as well as operated the console live for the performance.

Working closely with producer/director Rob Morean, she crafted a series of looks that reflected the tone and pacing of each cabaret act—ranging from quiet, emotional moments to high-energy ensemble numbers. These tailored looks for each act, balanced theatrical storytelling with concert-style energy.

Using the ETC Ion console, Rachel programmed and executed a full evening of dynamic cues that enhanced the shifting moods and pacing of the show.
